Appeal to parents ahead of Bonfire night |
||

Dear resident,
During an exceptionally busy Halloween, officers dealt with a considerable amount of disorder and anti-social behaviour in Llantwit Major town centre involving a group of approximately 40 youths. Many of those involved had travelled from the surrounding areas, including St Athan and Wick.
Two youths aged 13 and 14 were arrested in connection with this incident, and over 10 anti-social behaviour referrals have since been submitted in relation those identified as having been involved. Enquiries remain ongoing.
With Bonfire night upcoming, we are urging parents and guardians to speak to their young people about not getting involved in anti-social behaviour and to keep track of their whereabouts. We will have proactive patrols in place and officers will take action against anyone displaying behaviour that causes harassment, alarm or distress to others in the community.
If you witness dangerous firework use or anti-social behaviour, please report it via 101, or via 999 in an emergency
